PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

SURF OCEAN LIFESTYLE

Komune Resort played host for our ‘SOL 2019’ Photography Workshop in Bali. Participants were treated to 8 days of learning and shooting in a relaxed informal group setting with moments of one-on-one personal tuition, class lectures, technical advice and industry insights.

Starting our day with the sunrise, swimming in the ocean, shooting waves and pro surfers followed by a healthy breakfast became a welcome routine.

Giving participant the maximium opportunity to experience new & challenging environments, we organised special ‘hands on’ workshop activities balanced with lots of shooting time to be creative. All designed to try their new found skills and put their knowledge to the test.

We aimed to encourage, guide and inspire at every step of the journey.

The workshop was structured around three main themes: Surf, Ocean & Lifestyle. Professionally designed to expose participants to the nuances of shooting surf, surfing and surfers; waves, ocean and water; from in, under and at the waters edge regardless of what stage or level they were at in their photographic understanding.

NIGHT SURFING

One of the many highlights for participants was being able to experience photographing Night Surfing. Unique to Komune Resort at the famous Keramas surf break in Bali is their Night Surfing, floodlit surfers making for a dramatic subject against the dark ocean.

The workshop for me went beyond my expectations I had and really gave me whole new perspective of the Surf Ocean Lifestyle categories. Showing me how comprehensive they can get and broad, teaching me the key techniques of how to capture and produce great images!
Thanks to Ted, Phil and Jasmine.

OCEAN WORKSHOP GALLERY

This was the first workshop that I have ever attended and I was hesitant to spend such a large amount, however, compared to the price of other photography workshops that are considerably shorter in length, this workshop was great value for money.

The knowledge, confidence, clarity and experience I gained from working with Ted, Phil and Jasmine made me feel like it was extremely good value for money. It’s hard to put a price on that. In addition, the accommodation, food and location really exceeded my expectations.

This workshop beyond exceeded all my expectations. I was hoping to come away with clarification of my current skills, to have added to my knowledge and gain an understanding of the direction of my photography. I got all this and more. The location was fantastic but it was the organisation and the staff that really made it. To have such hands-on practical teaching in an informal and friendly manner was amazing.

I left this workshop with not only a wealth of knowledge and more confidence, but with new eyes. I was taught to see things in a different way that I can now apply to any future photography situation. This workshop was an unforgettable experience and the best thing I’ve ever done for my photography.
