OCEAN ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Memories of late afternoon beach walks at Pipeline, kokiʻo kea Hibiscuses in flower and early mornings spent perched on the rocks at Waimea Bay waiting for spears of first light to pierce through the valley and highlight the waves.
How quickly time has travelled. It was December 2015 at the Pipeline Gallery where we launched SEALEVEL - The Art of Awareness. An exhibition of images printed in square format on fine art photography paper.
SEALEVEL
Since then this body of work has evolved from a personal project to document the ocean at sea level. To capture moments of light playing with the elements - I get excited thinking about the photographic possibilities, it gets me out of bed before first light and I'm usually submerged in the ocean by the time the sun rises. Each day presents such varying conditions and the results in camera are as different as each ocean I shoot.
